Trade Up in the Draft?

I keep hearing stuff about how much Sir Knight loves this Italian kid (Andrea Bargnani), whose video is below. The guy looks okay, but he's not ready for the NBA. Or maybe he is, I'm a terrible judge of young talent. I'm going to lay out my fears right here: Knight is going to trade up for the #1 pick and Take The Canoli. Who would he trade? Hmm. Maybe Childress and a future #1, or something equally stupid. I hate him for even making this scenario plausible.

Alternate Theory: Chris Paul aside, Knight has done a pretty solid job in the draft. Really. This team has improved the last few years, and we have a solid young core. Maybe all this talk about 6'8" swingmen and how he's just going to take the best player available is all smoke. He knows that Marcus Williams is the Truth, and he will kill any GM that gets in his way.

On other draft possibilites: I saw Tyrus Thomas, Lamarcus Aldrige, and Sheldon Williams play when the tournament was here. Lamarcus was OWNED by LSU's Big Baby- he is not ready for NBA type bodies to play defense on him. That being said, he absolutely killed WVU with the sweetest post moves and 8 footers. Tryus has got serious hops, but that's about all I saw from him. Beware the tournament performer! Sheldon Williams is not the reason Duke lost. He was tough, he's focused, and he's got long arms- which really is the best physical quality I think you can look for. However, we've got at least 34 players on the Hawks who are same position as Sheldon, who will be too small to be a good power forward in the league.

I'm beginning to worry about the guards in the early rounds. Williams is up to 220 and looking slow. We might wanna think about taking a Shelden Williams or Patrick O'Bryant
