Sexual Healing named to All-Rookie 2nd Team

Marvin Williams was named to the All-Rookie 2nd Team this year. Not bad for a 20 year old kid who only played one year of college and didn't even start. At some point I'm going to have to separate the whole "why oh why didn't we draft Chris Paul" feelings from Marving Williams.

But it's not going to be until Marvin starts producing 15/10 games on a regular basis. Paul would still be a better answer to the Hawks problems, but I'm not going to deny that Marvin "Sexual Healing" Williams is a very special player. He got better as the year progressed, and his points per minute / rebounds per minute are almost identical to Josh 1's numbers his rookie year. He has a lot of potential physically to improve, and depending on how hard he works on his defense he has a lot of room to grow there.

As an aside, I'd like to mention a few point guards that made first team All-Rookie that we could have drafted: Chris Paul.

You hit the nail right on the head when you said "Paul would still be a better answer to the Hawks problems". As happy as I am that Marvin isn't a total bust and showed some signs down the stretch, he's ANOTHER 6'10" guy! We've got like 8 of them already. Paul would have been the pt guard that we sorely needed.
