Adventures in Lalawood

An inspired performance last night as the Hawks beat the Lakers 114-110, IN LOS ANGELES. It was the Hawks first road win out west in a few years. Let's spread the love and point out some highlights:

Josh 2 (who looks exactly like Popeye when he smiles) threw down a double-double with 3 blocks, and looked like he knew what he was doing last night. He also inspired the quote of the night- Smush Parker on the Lakers blew a dunk in the final minute and had this to say:
I knew Josh Smith was trailing and I tried to go up with two hands. I just blew it.
It's nice to hear someone actually respecting a Hawks player. Oh, and Popeye also scored 21 points.

Josh 1 played like a man last night and looked strong, scoring 21 points to also lead the team. He was a Hero on the Hawks big run in the second quarter when they came back, and I haven't seen him take over on offense like that since last year. He and Joe Johnson worked well together, with Josh 1 slashing to the basket aggressively and JJ working the handles to find open men.

JJ had a career-high (?) 15 assists last night, which might also be an Atlanta record for team assists... kidding. He did have 5 turnovers, and the Lakers had a ton of steals and breakaway dunks, but our offense was clicking last night. If we had cut down on turnovers and steals, we would've won by 15 or so.

Al Harrington played under 30 minutes last night as Childress and Marvin Williams got some serious playing time. I have no comment at this time, only that the Hawks just beat the Lakers in LA. Booyah.

The Hawks return next Tuesday after the All-Star break with a road game against the Pistons. The Hawks should be uber-fresh since they don't have to do anything for the All-Star game. I'll be on hiatus until then, unless Harrington gets traded or shoots his mouth off.
