Hawks Win The Superbowl of Basketball

The Hawks put up a huge win tonight against the Pistons. No, they weren't playing the back end of a 2-game swing. The Pistons missed a lot of shots and the Hawks played really tough, and hung on to win by 1 with *another* clutch shot by Joe "Too Cool Ice Cold" Johnson. A solid effort all around. We got some great production out of the Salim / Royal Point Guard position: 7-16 shooting, only 1 turnover, and Chauncey was held to 4-13 from the field. They probably win the next 4 games in a best-of-7 series, but we avoid the sweep, baby!

Joe Johnson was a freaking man tonight. He might be suffering from Danny Kolb disease (clutch in close situations when there really isn't anything on the line), but he's put up two big shots in the last two home games. After the game he didn't even crack a smile- it's possible that he understands the Hawks are still 15-32, while the Pistons will almost certainly be cruising through home-court advantage to the Conference Finals at a minimum. At any rate, I'm glad he's on the Hawks. When was the last time you saw a big-time Hawks highlight on SportsCenter that didn't involve: Josh 2 dunking, some crazy out of control shot by Antoine Walker, or Dan Dickau getting a 3 point swatted 400 feet into the roof at Philips Arena?
