You Sunk My Battleship

The Hawks run of greatness ended last night, after playing a road game the night after a home game. I'm still not sure why these are allowed in the NBA, but the Hawks take advantage of them sometimes, too. It just sucks being on the business end of one.

We were done in by poor shooting, although the Wizards are a team I'm not embarrassed to lose to, especially in Washington. We had a bunch of in-and-out foul shots down the stretch that would've kept us in it if they had fallen. The Hawks had an amazing 3rd quarter in which we took and made like 20 something free throws. If we have to pick a goat for the night it would be Al "True Professional" Harrington on offense, although he pulled down a bunch of boards last night. Josh 2 (Smith) was in double figures for boards as well, and the Hawks had 52 as a team. Maybe we should select Salim and Marvin as the two goats, each of them shooting an uncharacteristic 1-5.

At any rate, that's two games in a row of holding the opponent under 100 points, so we'll call that the silver lining and go ahead and ice our butts as a preventative measure. Detroit's coming to town on Tuesday.
