The Magnificent Seven

Last night the Hawks continued their ridiculous streak against the Pacers winning the 3rd straight and taking the season series. Joe Johnson has been watching that new Jordan commercial, and had a superb night: 40 points, 5-5 from beyond the arc, and 13 assists against 4 turnovers. Josh 1 continued his excellent play, with 18 points and 11 boards in 43 minutes, including a crucial offensive board that set up the tying 3-pointer from JJ as time expired. Josh 2 was solid as well, with 7 boards, 7! assists, 4 blocks and NO turnovers. The Hawks pretty much played a 7 man rotation, with Batista only playing 5 minutes here and there.

As I mentioned before, Salim's play alone could be enough to start posting some DNPs. Well, his 'tude didn't help and he earned himself a seat on the bench. He's had problems historically, and they seem to revolve around Salim thinking Salim is awesome and other people not thinking Salim is awesome, specifically coaches. Taking a quick look at his stats, his shooting has cooled off and his non-shooting stats are still poor. He is not a defender, and he ain't exactly AI. There is not much room in this league for "pretty good" shooters that can't play defense, especially if they are short. HHB's take: Salim, you are not a unique snowflake. Stop pouting and get back in the game. And please grow out that kickin' fro.

Al Harrington led all Hawks with 5 turnovers, 0 steals and 0 offensive rebounds. Someone on the AJC blog comments pointed out that Al is one of the weakest blockers ever- he is currently averaging 1 block every 5 games. That is horrendous, and not what you are looking for in a Power Forward.
