Amare Part 2
First off, I've been given the great honor of participating in the TrueHoop liveblogging of the NBA Draft tonight on ESPN.com. Henry Abbot does a great job bringing real basketball stories that are just below the surface- I would call him the Hotlanta Matt of the rest of the NBA.
A few things to read: a rundown on the deal from Sekou Smith and a possible boning by Steve Belkin via Chad Ford (the article, not the boning).
Regarding the first: if we are sending Minnesota the #3 and the #11 and we are getting back Stoudemire, we should not be including any players in the deal that aren't trash (read: Williamses). If they want Shelden or Marvin, they are asking too much.
Regarding the second: Steve Belkin can bite my shiny metal ass. If he ruins the trade to bring Amare here (previous points notwithstanding), he should be run out of town if he lives here, or never allowed in town if he actually lives out of town. End result: he is not in this town.

I am not sure I dislike Steve Belkin so much. I think he did the right thing last year by trying to stop the terrible trade with the Suns (we almost got screwed) and why in the HELL would we give our top 2 lottery picks for any player.
Anyway, the surreal ownership team of the Hawks is mostly overlooked in national media reports. I mean, the owners are fighting and suing and cancelling trades? LOL! Only the Hawks...
But its a brand new day. And I'm jumping back on the Hawks wagon.
I like both picks today and I think we can do some damage in the East.
