Billy Knight Still Sucks
Remember when Billy Knight traded the Hawks' 2nd round pick for Anthony Johnson? If he had kept it, here's who we could have drafted:
Nick Fazekas (Dallas took him with our pick)
Glen Davis (injury plagued year hurt his stock big time)
Josh McRoberts (not as bad as people think)
I wouldn't trade a paperweight for Anthony Johnson. You're not out of the woods yet, Billy.

An excellent reminder to those Hawks fans who think the franchise is suddenly in capable hands. McRoberts is an incredibler passer and would have been a perfect change of pace at the 4/5.
As always, I just wonder about Woodson. The hawks do not have a high tempo offense. The half court offense too many times consists of throw it to one player and everyone watch. I'm fine with the team full of good athletes if they ran like Golden State, but the hawks don't.
that trade turned out to be our loss now, but i think at that time, our point guards were all injury plagued so it was a sort of desperation move.
thinking about it, glen davis, fazekas or mcroberts would have been great additions.
I left ATL and the Hawks were actually good with Smitty, Mookie, Mutumbo, etc. Then I moved to Orlando, I thought that management couldn't be any more misguided than the Magic's. Clearly, I'm wrong. After returning from watching the Magic self destruct during six years, mostly due to the Grant Hill disaster, it's amazing to watch this dysfunctional Hawks management group, arrogant (there many words that can be used) GM Billy Knight, and a coach where the verdict is still out as to whether he's any good or not. Over 5 million people here in ATL, and we must have one of the most apathetic fan bases in the league, but it's with good reason.
It's true, Hawks top level management is just plain shitty. That being said, I really like the pick of Acie Law. He's a solid point guard that is perfect for the rebuilding years. The problem is the abundance of forwards. Who's going to be on the move?
