What the crap? The Hawks let 2 assistant coaches interview with other teams. When those coaches were offered the jobs, the Hawks said "SIKE!" The Hawks are going to force the 2 coaches to honor the final year of their contracts.
That's totally within their rights, but why allow them to interview in the first place? Sekou follows up with some insight, making it sound Billy Knight would only let them go if they were going to be named head coach or something. Just ridiculous. Here's what I wrote on the AJC blog:

There is no way that keeping these guys on staff is going to be better than letting them go if it is against their desires. Do we really need to test how professional they can be? If they were allowed to interview, they should also be allowed to leave, period. Bringing down the hammer is absolutely horrendous management, and whoever is responsible is a terrible person. Despite what the owners and Knight say, this organization appears to be as dysfunctional as it gets- what happened yesterday sends a worse message than allowing our assistants to leave.
