The Atlanta Smyrna Hawks
Bill Hartman over at WSBTV did a little bit of writing. It's not bad, although the Larry King style sentence fragments don't work so well on paper (or screen, whatever).
The interesting piece was his mention of the Google Trends statistics for searches including "Atlanta Hawks". He was suprised that Smyrna is the #1 city for google searches of the team, but he might have missed that the searches are normalized. That means that Smyrna's percentage of google searches include "Atlanta Hawks" at a higher rate than Atlanta, not that they have more total searches.
And a big shout-out to the Uruguaian fans of Team Zissou member, Esteban Batista. Montevideo, Uruguay posted the #6 City ranking, and the #1 country ranking. The Hawks aren't exactly America's Team, and they definitely need a reach out program to develop the South American talent.

Sorry, but I cannot support your cause. The Hawks are not the worst team in the NBA (by any ranking system).
