Welcome, Speedy!
So the Hawks done got themselves a point guard, albeit CHRIS PAUL'S BACKUP. Seriously, could there be a bigger admission that Billy Knight blew the 2005 draft than by taking the backup of the guy we could've had?
At any rate, Speedy is an interesting case. He's never really been a starting point guard for a whole season, but he's definitely shown signs of brilliance. He's a little short, but obviously he's fast. He can't shoot the 3 to save his life, but his quickness gives us an edge against other quick guards that ate us alive last year. Depending on how well he fits in with our team, Speedy could be a nice piece. Plus he's 3 years younger than Mike James, which is nice.
